Russian Orthodox Church leader to visit India

New Delhi, Dec 2 (UNI) Senior Russian Orthodox Church leader and Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill will arrive here tomorrow on a week-long visit to India.

His Eminence Kiril, who is also Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kalingrad, will visit Varanasi,Chennai and Kerala.

Soon after his arrival, a luncheon will be hosted for him by Delhi Metropolitan of the Indian Orthodox Church His Grace Job Mar Philexenos.

A seminar will be held here on December four on 'Religions and Interfaith Interaction in Contemporary World' to mark his visit. It is being jointly organised by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Embassy of the Russian Federation and Russian News agency-RIA Novosti.

Russian Federation Ambassador Vyacheslav I Trubnikov will accord a reception to the visiting dignitary on December 4.

The Metropolitan will visit Varanasi and Chennai before his arrival in Kerala on December eight. In Kerala, he will visit Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Parumala.
