Rs 45,000 cr for power feeders for MP ryots
Gwalior, Dec 2 (UNI) A sum of Rs 45,000 crore would be spend by the Madhya Pradesh government on construction of separate power feeders for supplying peasants.
''After the scheme is completed, cultivators will receive single and three-phase supply as per the requirement,'' Agriculture Minister Chaudhry Chandrabhan Singh told mediapersons here today.
Slamming the Centre's United Progressive Alliance regime, he alleged a shortage of 28 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser but no attention was being paid to that.
''In October, the state government sent a Rs 1,000-crore drought-relief proposal to the Centre but the funds are awaited.
Former (Congress) Chief Minister Digvijay Singh's decision to supply free electricity, upto five Horse Power, to farmers led to a power crisis,'' the minister said.
Claiming that the agriculture policy was being properly implemented under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's leadership, Mr Singh added that the crop insurance scheme's results would begin emerging this month.
