NE to get 22 new ITIs
Itanagar, Dec 2 (UNI) The Eleventh Finance Commission has allocated Rs 100 crore for setting up 22 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in alleight Northeastern states.
While 87.77 crore, out of total sactioned fund, has been given for executing the works of the ITIs under Prime Minister Project.
And out of this amount Rs 75.64 crore has already been released to the respective states, according to officials of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment here.
The balance of the total sanctioned amount was yet to be released due to non-receipt of utilization certificates from the respective state governments, informed Sunil Mathur, Director (Administration) of the ministry, here this morning during a review meeting of all the centrally sponsored schemes being executed in the region.
He said out of the allocated amount by the EFC, Rs. 49.88 crore would be used for establishment of 22 new ITIs in the region while an amount of Rs. 49.02 crore would be utilized for upgradation of 35 such institutions.
The projects are likely to be completed by the end of the current fiscal, he added.
