Lt Col's body to be brought to Bhopal tomorrow

Bhopal, Dec 2 (UNI) The mortal remains of Lt Colonel Pankaj Jha -- who was stationed at the Northern Command Headquarters in Udhampur and committed suicide yesterday by shooting himself with his service pistol-- are likely to be brought to his hometown Bhopal tomorrow afternoon.

The officer had recently resumed duty after a long leave. The Army has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Lt Col Jha's family sources said he was cheerful during his leave and did not even mention any problem. The officer's wife and daughter also reside here along with his father.

On June 15, city-based Lt Sushmita Chakraborty (25), who was attached to the Army Services Corps 5071 Battalion, also allegedly shot herself with a sentry's rifle in Udhampur.
