Lt Col ends himself in Mahore

Jammu, Dec 2: A senior army officer allegedly committed suicide in his unit at 15 Sector Rashtriya Rifles headquartere at Mahore in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources today said Lt Col Pankaj Jha shot himself with his service pistol at 1430 hrs, barely a few hours after returning from his home town in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

The Army personnel, including senior officers rushed to the spot.

The body was sent for post-mortem.

The Army have ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Official sources said the body of the officer was likely to be flown to Bhopal tomorrow.

Domestic problem is suspected to be the reason behind the suicide.
