Chandigarh, Dec 2 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today sought cooperation with China in sports besides education, industry and agriculture.

The Chief Minister expressed this view in Beijing while interacting with the Politbureau Member of the Communist Party of China, Mr Liu Qi, who also sought cooperation from India in the fields of Information Technology and IT enabled services.

Mr Hooda, who is on a study tour to China, said he was impressed with the infrastructure created in China within a small period and had learnt a lot in this regard during the visit.

He said Haryana was one of the most progressive states in India and the state government intended to achieve the goal of sustainable economic growth and recognised the importance of infrastructure and fostering a good investment environment in generating sustainable economic development.

Mr Liu said he had been to India to understand the preparation being made by India for the Commonwealth Games of 2010, which could be useful for the arrangements being made for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Mr Liu described 2006 as the year of Sino-India friendship, which had been marked with the recent visit to India by Chinese President Hu Jintao.

He said Mr Hooda's visit to China was of great significance as it had been immediately followed by the visit of the Chinese President and it would further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two sides.
