Haryana tottering at 176 for six in reply to Karnataka's 371

Mysore, Dec 2 (UNI) Replying to host Karnataka's impressive first innings knock of 371, Haryana were struggling at 176 for six in their first knock on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' league fixture here today.

Overnight 301 for six, Karnataka innings folded up for the addition of only 70 runs this morning, with Thilak Naidu (84) caught by Rawat off Sanjaya Badhwar without adding further to his overnight score. The last wicket partnership of 43 runs between Vinaykumar and K P Appanna enabled the hosts to take the total to 371. Joginder Sharma claimed four wickets for 101 and Badhwar took three for 49.

Haryana started their knock on a disastrous note, losing opener Sumit Sharma in the very first over itself. With the wickets falling at regular intervals, the visitors were reduced to 124 for six.

However, a 52-run partnership for the unfinished seventh wieket between Mahesh Rawat and Sachin Rana enabled Haryana end the day without any further damage. B Akil and Appanna shared two wickets each, while Vinaykumar and Sunil Joshi claimed a wicket a piece.
