Footwear bears deity's picture

Jabalpur, Dec 2 (UNI) A group of youth today damaged a shop here as they were incensed over footwear bearing pictures of a deity.

''This morning, youths reached the Fancy Slippers Stores near the Wright Town Bus Stand and objected to the sale of a certain type of slippers. They damaged panes, a computer and other material. A police team reached the spot and exercised mild force to disperse the accused. Five arrests were executed,'' City Superintendent of Police Siddharth Chaudhry said.

An investigation is on to ascertain whether the accused are linked with any political or other organisations.
