Chennai, Dec 02 (UNI) Extreme Networks India Private Limited, a leader in open converged networks, has come out with its second Research and Development centre in the city.

The company, which started its first R&D here in June 2005, has expanded into a second facility at Baid Hitech Park on then East Coast Road.

The new facility spread over 10,000 sq ft would house around 75 employees to begin with and increase the headcount in the coming months, Ms Mary Koshy, General Manager told newspersons here today.

"Extreme Networks India will continue to provide high-end software engineering, software quality assurance and network management application development to its customers," she said.

The centre would also focus on the design and delivery of enterprise-wide systems and solutions to extend and enhance worldwide business operations, she added.

Mr Paul Hooper, Chief Information Officer and Vice President Marketing, who inaugurated the new facility said the Chennai facility was the second largest R&D facility outside the United States.
