Congress must win bypolls, says Rajagopal

Vijayawada, Dec 2 (UNI) Vijayawada Lok Sabha Member L Rajagopal today expressed confidence that the Congress would win both the Lok Sabha seats from Bobbili and Karimnagar constituencies in the December 4 byelections.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Rajagopal said the people of the constituency would endorse the developmental works taken up by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government in its two and half year rule.

The farming community was happy over the implementation of the welfare schemes of free power, waiver of power dues and irrigation project works.

Womenfolk were also happy over the scheme providing loans at 25 paise interest. Other schemes like the Rural Guarantee Employment Scheme for labourers and youth and Indiramma Housing Scheme were the other achievements of the Congress government which would help its candidates in the bypolls, he claimed.
