Centre condemns Jharkhand blast, sending NSG team to site
New Delhi, Dec 2 (UNI) The Centre today strongly condemned the landmine blast in Kanchigourh village in Jharkhand in which 11 security persons were killed and is sending a National Security Guard team to the blast site.
The Union Home Ministry has provided two helicopters to the state government to evacuate injured to the hospitals. The Director General of Central Reserve Police Force has been directed to provide all possible assistance to the state government in apprehending culprits responsible for the blast.
A team of the NSG is being dispatched to the state to examine the blast site.
According to the information received by the ministry, at least eleven of the 18 personnel of the State Reserve Police and Special Task Force were killed and 3 critically injured when landmines exploded while they were were carrying out random raids in the area.
Home Secretary V K Duggal has spoken to DGP, Jharkhand. He is in constant touch with state officials.
The Home Secretary has also offered all assistance from the centre to the DGP.
