BJP demands inquiry into Mulky firing
Mangalore, Dec 2 (UNI) BJP Karnataka unit President D V Sadananda Gowda today demanded that the State Government soon initiate a high- level inquiry into yesterday's police firing incident in Mulky, in which two persons were killed and three others injured.
Addressing a press conference here, he criticised the police for having failed to manage the situation. The magnitude of the situation was not even ten per cent when compared to the communal violence witnessed in Ullal last month. The district police had totally failed in containing those forces which continuously indulged in disturbing peace in the district, he alleged.
Mr Gowda said he had held talks with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Home Minister M P Prakash about the party's demand for a high-level inquiry into the incident to bring out the truth.
Criticising the withdrawal of anti-rowdy squad, he felt the need for revamping and strengthening the entire police force in the district.
