Airbus sold 127 planes in November

PARIS, Dec 1 (Reuters) Airbus sold 127 jets in November, bringing the number of sales so far this year to 635 aircraft, the planemaker said on Friday.

November's deals included a shot in the arm for its slow-selling A340 four-engine planes, criticised by many airlines as too expensive compared to modern twin jets.

India's Kingfisher Airlines signed up for 5 of the ultra-long-range A340-500 model, its first success since December 2004, according to Airbus monthly order figures.

Overall sales were once again dominated by single-aisle A320-family models including a 52-jet order from easyJet.

Deliveries for 2006 stood at 399 to end-November, Airbus said.
