Advocates of lower courts in Rajasthan continue indefinite strike
Jaipur, Dec 2 (UNI) Work in lower courts across Rajasthan remained affected as the advocates indefinite strike entered its second day today.
Bar Association of Jaipur's general secretary Sunil Sharma said the strike was observed in all lower courts across the state.
The advocates are protesting against the reduction in their leaves during a year and are demanding their calender year be the same as that of High Court advocates.
Mr Sharma said the advocates handed over a memorandum to Justice P P Navlekar and K G Balakrishnan of Supreme Court today, who are currently here. He said both the judges assured them that they would study the matter.
He said advocates in lower courts were angry, since with the reduction of leaves from next year, they would not be able to have holidays even on major festivals.
Meanwhile, work routine was normal at the High Court, whose advocates are not participating in the state.
