Week-long Hornbill festival declared open
Kohima, Dec 01 (UNI) Nagaland Governor Shyamal Datta today declared open the famous 'Hornbill festival', which will showcase the rich culture, tradition and social life of the Nagas.
Inaugurating the festival Mr Datta said the state had become an explicable destination for the tourists, with rich culture and age old traditions, which had attracted the tourists worldwide.
He advised the state government to improve the connectivities in every sphere.
He said a silent revolution is evolving among the Nagas for a better change and development, which resulted to the cease-fire between the Centre and the underground factions.
Taking the advantage of the cease-fire and peace process, the state is gradually scaling towards the development.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi would be the chief guest for the second day celebration of the festival.
