Typhoon kills 146 people in Philippines-Red Cross
MANILA, Dec 1 (Reuters) Typhoon Durian killed 146 people in the central Philippines after high winds and rain triggered deadly mudslides, the head of the Philippine Red Cross said today.
Mud and rocks covered two villages close to Mount Mayon, around 322 km south of Manila. At least five other villages were also hit, officials said.
