Two killed as jeep plunges into well

Coimbatore, Dec 1 (UNI) Two persons were killed and another injured when a jeep in which they were travelling veered and plunged into a well at Modakurichi near Tirupur in this district early today.

Police said the deceased Kanakarathinam (45) and Senthil Velan (35), working in a construction company in Erode were returning home after participating in a wedding reception at Pollachi.

Jeep driver Koteswaran, who was injured said as he was tired and unable to drive, Kanakarathinam asked him to take rest and himself took the steering. While driving Kanakarathinam dozed of for a second resulting in the vehicle veering off the road and plunging into the 60 feet deep well.

Police rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies.
