Three farmers commit suicide in Vidarbha
Akola, Dec 1 (UNI) In a spate of suicides by farmers in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region, three more have allegedly committed suicide, police said today.
In an incident, 30-year-old Kisan Bhagwan Kate, a resident of village Dinoda in Akot taluka of the district, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of his house yesterday, police said.
In another incident, Bhaulal Mangal Dhande (58), a resident of village Sadraabadi in Dharni taluka of Amravati district, committed suicide yesterday by jumping from the third floor of UP-zilla hospital at Dharni. Two days before, he had attempted to end his life by allegedly consuming poison but was rescued. He was recuperating in the hospital when he decided to take the drastic step.
In the third incident, Mangal Vasudeo Dhabe (30), a resident of village Seoni Dhabe in Yeotmal district, was found dead yesterday by hanging from the branch of a tree on the bank of River Wardha, police added.
