Tension following murder of a local BJP leader

Mangalore, Dec 1: Tension prevailed in Kulai village in Suratkal Police Station limits following alleged murder of a local Bharatiya Janata Party leader by some unidentified persons today.

Police said a group of miscreants, who came in a Qualis, assaulted Sukhanand Shetty with lethal weapons in the morning.

Mr Shetty succumbed to injuries on the way to Hospital.

Tension prevailed as the news spread about Mr Shetty's death.

Additional forces, including Two KSRP platoons and one Rapid Action Force (RPF) had been deployed and the situation was stated to be tense but under control.
