Speaker issues calendar for budget session

Jammu, Nov 30 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly speaker Tara Chand today issued provisional calendar for the sittings of the 12th session of the 10th legislative assembly.

As per the calendar, on January 8, 2007 the governor will address both houses jointly. on January 9, 10 and 11 there will be discussion on motion of thanks and reply thereto. Government business has been allocated for January 12. January 13 and 14 will be observed as holidays and private member resolutions will come up on 15 January while 16th and 18th January will be for private member bills.

Annual budget will be presented on January 17 alongwith supplementary statement on expenditure. general budget discussion will be on 19, 22 and 23 January and reply thereto. January 20 and 21 will be off days.

Demand for grants will be tabled on January 24, 25, 31, February 1, 5 to 9 and 12 to 15, while as appropriation bills will come for discussion on February 19 and 20, whereas 22 and 23 February have been fixed for government business. Private members resolutions are slotted for February 21.

January 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and February 2, 3 4, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18 would be observed as holidays.
