Some respite from chill, mercury rises to 10.1 degrees
New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) There was some respite for Delhiites today from the chilly weather conditions of the last week as mercury rose to 10.2 degrees Celsius.
For the first time since Sunday, the mercury rose above the nine degrees C mark. For almost the whole of the week, the minimum temperature has been recorded below nine degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature also rose to 25 degrees, from 23 degrees yesterday.
The respite from chilly conditions could, however, be shortlived with the weathermen forecasting renewed snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttaranchal from Sunday under the influence of a Western disturbance.
A fresh spell of rain and thundershowers is also expected in plains of North West India, including Punjab and Haryana.
Therefore, while the met office has forecast a rise in night temperature over the next week, the day temperatures are expected to fall.
For tomorrow, weather office has forecast a clear sky though misty conditions would prevail in the morning.
