SI, Railway Engineer arrested on bribery charges

Hyderabad, Dec 1 (UNI) A Sub-Inspector of Police and a Railway Assistant Engineer from West Godavari district were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on charges of bribery.

An ACB statement here said SI Tata Rao of Tallapudi Police Station was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 2500 from the complainant for doing an official favour.

The AEN Dharma Rao at Bhimavaram Railway Station, who demanded a digital camera from a contractor for sanctioning pending bills, was arrested while accepting the camera from the contractor, yesterday.

Both were presented before the Special Judge for ACB cases, the statement added.
