Rupee opens high by nine paise at 44.64/66/USD
Mumbai, Dec 1: The Rupee today opened higher by nine paise and was quoted at Rs 44.64/66 against the US dollar as compared to it's previous close of Rs 44.73/74 per USD, as reports of dollar data from overseas were bad which impacted dollar selling pressure by foreign and nationalised banks.
Later, the domestic currency lowered at 44.67/68 during the mid-morning session, due to short-covering by local dealers.
The Rupee went higher again by eight paise at Rs 44.65/66 per USD from it's previous close, because of sustained selling pressure of the dollar by foreign and local banks, traders said.
