Punjab CM condemns manhandling of lensman, orders probe
Chandigarh, Dec 1 (UNI) Taking cognizance of the news reports about the manhandling of the Senior Staff Photographer of Hindustan Times, Samuel N Dass, by a Police Constable at Kharar yesterday, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter.
An official spokesman said that Capt Singh condemned the incident and directed Mr Darshan Singh, SDM Kharar to conduct an inquiry and submit the report within a week.
He further said that the Chief Minister categorically said that nobody would be allowed take law in their own hands and an action as per law would be taken against those found guilty.
Meanwhile, advisor to Chief Minister B I S Chahal also decried the incident.
