Poultry farming to get status of agriculture: Modi
Patna, Nov 30(UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today announced that the state government would soon accord agricultural status to the poultry farming.
Addressing a function organised here to mark the opening of a Makhana processing unit, Mr Modi said, ''Apart from rebate in electricity tariffs and other incentives would be given to the poultry units, which will ultimately help in boosting this sector.
One thousand poultry farmers would be sent to Puna for specialised training while 300 people had returned from Andhra Pradesh after attending training camp on fisheries.'' ''With the opening of Makhana processing unit, process of installation of agro-based industries had begun, which were in the pipeline, would take shape with the passage of time,'' he added.
Mr Modi said the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), which was earlier constituted, was now yielding results and flow of investment in the state was now visible.
