Imphal, Dec 1 (UNI) Despite the boycott call by the proscribed outfit Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), preparations are on for the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Manipur tomorrow.

Official sources said the Prime Minister would be addressing a public function at Kangla near here and security had been beefed up in view of the visit.

Mr Singh would lay the foundation stone of a sports academy, city convention centre, and Manipur Institute of Technology at Kangla, sources said.

Police have deployed a team of SPG here to oversee the security arrangements.

The RPF had also called for a dawn to dusk strike tomorrow, sources said.

Meanwhile, the Action Committee Against Tipaimukh dam (ACTIP) had also called for a general strike opposing the Prime Minister's visit tomorrow, sources added.

However, the laying of the foundation stone for the controversial Tipaimukh dam by Mr Singh had not yet been confirmed.

Official sources said mobile phones would not be allowed at Kangla and there would be some new traffic regulations.
