PCC urges CEO to disqualify TDP Karimnagar candidate

Hyderabad, Dec 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee today urged Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhaskar to disqualify L Ramana, TDP candidate contesting Karimnagar Lok Sabha by-election, as a TDP functionary was allegedly caught with Rs five lakh cash and party material for distribution to voters.

In a memorandum submitted to the CEO, party Vice-President Dr A Chakrapani, General Secretary D V Satyanarayana and spokesperson Dr N Tulasi Reddy alleged that one K Mohan Reddy was arrested in Sircilla in Karimnagar and Rs five lakh in Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes were found in his vehicle, apart from party material and flags.

TDP politburo member T Devender Goud had admitted that Mohan Reddy was a TDP functionary and urged the CEO to thoroughly enquire into the matter and take appropriate action.
