Night curfew imposed along 38 Km border in Jammu
Jammu, Dec 1 (UNI) Stepping up its drive against infiltration, Jammu and Kashmir government has imposed night curfew for two months along the 38 Km border in the Kathua district of the state.
Jammu District Magistrate Hirdesh Kumar Singh today imposed section 144 crPC, restricting the movement of people between 2130 hrs to 0500 hrs in the area along the border within a distance of 1 km from zero line.
However, under ''exceptional circumstances'' persons needing emergency medical attention can contact nearest security force, police picket with torch in hand and are required to provide proper identification on demand.
This restriction is not applicable to the personnel of security forces, para military forces, police personnel on duty. This order shall remain in force for a period of two months, the order said.
Sources said this was necessitated in new of the present security scenario in the state particularly in the border areas of Jammu.
