New Mangalore Port to get one more Coast Guard ship
Mangalore, Dec 1 (UNI) One more new Coast Guard ship will shortly join the two already in operation at the New Mangalore Port to strengthen surveillance along the coast here.
According to Coast Guard sources, the new ship was expected from Goa to strengthen surveillance and check any infiltration through sea. The ship was now visiting various places.
Meanwhile, at a function arranged at the office of the Coast Guard here today, few Coast Guard personnel who have undergone additional training in marine and aquatics were presented with certificates.
In the Coast Guard inter-western region cross country championship, organised by the Coast Guard Mangalore, Maharashtra Coast Guard lifted the rolling shield. Second and third places were secured by Kerala and Daman respectively. In the individual section, S R Kumar of Gujarat won the gold, S Chowhary silver and K Meena bronze.
Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Daman participated in the championship.
