Migration for jobs stopped, says MP govt.
Bhopal, Dec 1 (UNI) The BJP government has claimed that migration in search of employment has stopped in Madhya Pradesh this year due to effective implementation of the rural employment guarantee scheme with 47 percent funds having been spent so far.
''Job cards have been issued to over 41 lakh people and spending sizeable percent of the funds bears out that the scheme is being implemented effectively in a result-oriented manner'', Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said here yesterday after flagging off ''Rojgar Guarantee Samvad Yatra'' to gather feedback on the scheme's implementation.
''Tangible results were noticed when no migration took place in May-June this year in 18 districts covered under the scheme'', Mr Tomar said, adding it had been ensured that there was no migration from any part of the state for employment.
About Rs 1300 crore had been spent under the scheme so far, Rural Development Secretary Wasim Akhtar said.
