MBA flays Mizoram govt

Aizawl, Dec 1 (UNI) Mizoram Bar Association (MBA) today accused the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) government of non implementation of the peace agreement signed with the Centre in 1986.

''As per the memorandum of settlement, signed between erstwhile MNF underground and the Centre, clearly mentioned that Mizoram can have a separate High Court but even after getting three terms MNF has not pursued the matter at all'', MBA president Lalramzauva said.

MBA officials here alleged that due to ''reluctant attitude'' of the state government a number of issues including a separate High Court have not yet been established in Mizoram even after two decades of attaining state-hood.
