Man murders aunt, daughter over quarrel

Chennai, Dec 01 (UNI) A 30 year-old man allegedly murdered his aunt and her daughter by strangulating them and later hanged himself at their residence in suburban Vettuvankini last night.

According to police, G Murugan, a labourer, staying in his aunt's house quarrelled with them under the influence of liquor. He murdered C Kasiammal (38) and her 17 year-old daughter Padmavathi and hanged himself.

A six-year old girl and a relative of Kasiammal, after waking up from sleep started crying on seeing the dead bodies this morning.

Neighbours informed the matter to the police.

Police rushed to the spot and broke open the house. They removed the bodies to Government Royapettah hospital for post-mortem.
