Lok Sabha adjourned till 1530 hours on Ambedkar issue
New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the fourth time till 1530 hours today on the issue of the desecration of Babasaheb Ambedkar's statue in Kanpur with BSP members demanding the dismissal of the Uttar Pradesh government on the matter.
Both the Houses were adjourned twice during the question hour and the Lok Sabha for the third time till 1400 hrs.
As soon as the House reassembled, the BSP and some members from the BJP sought the imposition of President's rule in Uttar Pradesh, raising slogans like ''Ambedkar ke samman main, BSP maidan main (The BSP is on the streets for Ambedkar's honour) '', ''Baba Saheb ka yeh apman, nahin sahengen, nahin sahengain (We will not tolerate any disrespect to Babasahab) and ''Doshi ko saza do (Punish the guilty).'' Ignoring repeated pleas of the Chair for order, the BSP members surged to the well, while shouting the slofans.
Mrs Krishna Tirath, who was presiding, said she respected their sentiments and, in fact, associated with them, but they should allow the House to take up its business. Amid the din, the papers listed listed in the business were laid on the table of the House.
As the uproar continued, Mrs Tirath then adjourned the House till 1530 hours.
