Four bodies recover from trapped mine

Asansol, Dec 01 (UNI) Rescuers today recovered four bodies of the six miners, who had been trapped at Shyamsunderpur colliery of Eastern Coalfield Limited since yesterday, official sources said.

The corpses of Gopal Das, Baidyanath Mahato, Company Bhuiya and Jhalman Harijan retrieved from the mine this afternoon, Shyamsunderpur mine manager S.S.Prasad told UNI. The two other miners-Joynath Pasi and Nawalal Mahato- still trapped, were yet to be traced as the search for them was on, he added.

At least six miners had been trapped in the mine, a unit of Coal India Limited, the after a huge chuck cave in blocking the exit point on Thursday.
