FCI CMD appointed State Election Commissioner

Chandigarh, Dec 1 (UNI) The Punjab Government has appointed Food Corporation of India Chairman and Managing Director A K Dubey as State Election Commissioner, Punjab for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge in place of Mr C L Bains, who completed his tenure yesterday.

Informing this here today, Punjab Elections Secretary Satish Chandra, through notification, said he should be deemed to have retired from the Indian Administrative Service on the date on which he assumes office as the State Election Commissioner.

''On ceasing to hold office of State Election Commissioner, he should be ineligible for any further appointment under the State Government. Other terms and conditions of his appointment would be issued later on,'' he added.
