DPI holds novel demo against Aiyar

Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, Dec 1 (UNI) Volunteers of the Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) today staged a novel demonstration against the Union Panchayat Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar protesting against his inviting Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse to his daughter's wedding held in New Delhi a few days back, at Perambur Village near here.

Police said the DPI workers carried an effigy of Mr Aiyar in a bier, took it to the burial ground in the village and buried it there.

After shouting slogans against Mr Aiyar and Mr Rajapakse, the agitators withdrew peacefully, police added.
