Chargsheet against DTO filed in corruption case

Patna, Nov 30 (UNI) The Bihar state vigilance investigation bureau today filed chargesheet against former district transport officer of Patna Brijraj Rai in a case, an offshoot of flood relief scam.

The chargesheet was filed by the bureau before designated judge Munilal Paswan under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Prevention of Corruption Act with the charges of cheating, forgery and corruption.

However, the bureau had not filed the sanction order from the state government for prosecution under Corruption Act against the District Transport Office (DTO).

The chargesheet said investigation was on against the prime accused in the case RJD MP Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav.

According to charges registration of a vehicle was transfered in the name of Mr Yadav by forging the documents of Patna DTO during 2004-06.

DTO Brijraj Rai, lodged in jail under the charges of involvement in the case from September 6, 2006, was posted as DTO, Muzaffarpur, at the time of his arrest.
