Air Marshal Rajkumar next Commander-in-Chief of A

New Delhi, Dec 1 (UNI) Air Marshal Packiam Paul Rajkumar will take over as Commander-in-Chief of Andaman Nicobar Command tomorrow.

He will take charge from Vice Admiral AK Singh, a Defence Ministry release said today.

A graduate of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Air Marshal Rajkumar was commissioned in the Flying Branch of IAF in June 1969.

He had been on deputation to the Government of Iraq from 1987 to 1989 to train their pilots.

He commanded a Mi-8 Helicopter Unit, as a part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka in 1989-90.

An Ati Vishisht Seva Medal awardee in 2003, he also commanded the Helicopter Training School, which is the main Institution for training Army and Air Force helicopter pilots.

As an Air Marshal, he had been the commandant of National Defence College.
