Workers interests to be taken careof: Govt
New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Minister for Heavy Industries Santosh Mohan Dev today assured the Rajya Sabha that the interests of the workers will be safeguarded by the the Pay Commission.
''The Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the UPA government safeguards the interests of the industrial workers,'' he said.
Congress' Santosh Bagrodia asked whether the trade unions has been consulted while taking up pay revisions.
His party colleague Jai Prakash Agarwal pointed out that pay revisions must be undertaken every five years.
CPI(M)'s Prasanta Bannerjee demanded a statement from the Minister for Agriculture on the fate of the two lakh quintals of grain meant for BPL families in Jharkand.
