W B Gov will not force IT employees to join strike on Dec 14: Min

Kolkata, Nov 30 (UNI) West Bengal IT minister Debesh Das today said the government would neither force nor encourage IT employees to join the All India Industrial strike called by CITU and other left organisations on December 14.

'' It has been the government's policy not to ask anybody to join a strike nor do we force one to work, '' he said in reply to a question of senior Trinamool Congress member Sougata Ray.

Mr Das said the government had been following a policy on the IT sector according to the Industrial Dispute Act. The policy gets renewed every six months. The last time it was renewed on June 1, 2006.
