Violent mob damages 20 buses in Beed district, ten injured
Beed, Maharashtra, Nov 30 (UNI) At least ten persons were injured in stone pelting and 20 buses damaged in the district as violent agitators protesting the desecration of a statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at Kanpur on Tuesday, went on rampage here since last evening, police said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) B H Kachwe said the mob which indulged in stone pelting and arson since last evening damaged 20 State Transport buses while about ten people were injured in various parts of the district.
All the injured have been admitted to the District Civil Hospital, police sources said.
The sources said the agitators damaged ten buses in Beed city while four in Parali, three in Ambajogai and three in Majalgaon respectively since last evening.
The agitators pelted stones and mainly targetted the State Transport Buses to register their protest, the sources said.
Meanwhile, police bandobast has been tightened in the entire district in order to maintain law and order, the sources added.
