Violence rocks WB assy, TC members on rampage

Kolkata, Nov 30: Violence rocked the West Bengal Assembly today as Trinamool Congress members went on a rampage in the lobby in protest against the arrest of Ms Mamata Banejee in Hooghly district.

A CPI (M) MLA was seriously injured while two security personnel and as many media photographers also received injuries in the unprecedented incident.

The incident took place after Ms Banerjee, who was arrested by police earlier in the day for violating prohibitory orders near Singur, barged inside the Assembly premises and started shouting at the top of her voice alleging that the administration had acted '' unconstitutionally'' by preventing her from entering Singur where the Tata motors proposed to set up a small car factory.

Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhataacharjee condemning the incident said it was an expression of isolation and political violence of the Trinamool Congress
