Veteran freedom fighter passes away

Lucknow, Nov 30 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter and senior journalist Bachnesh Tripathi died here today.

He was 90.

The octogenarian had participated in the country's freedom struggle and was jailed during the 1942 Quit India Movement.

Mr Tripathi was also the editor of Lucknow dailies 'Tarun Bharat' and 'Rashtra Dharma'.

His mortal remains were consigned to flames on the banks of river Gomti here this evening.
