Vengsarkar to come for Bengal-Mumbai tie
Kolkata, Nov 30 (UNI) Chairman of the Selection Committee Dilip Vengsarkar will arrive here this evening to watch the Ranji Trophy tie between Bengal and Mumbai.
Sourav Ganguly might turn out for Bengal in the tie, which has assumed importance in the light of his selection to the Indian team today for the three-Test series against South Africa.
The left-hander made 43 and also picked up five wickets in Bengal's first Ranji game of the season against Punjab in Mohali last week.
Vengsarkar, who has been asked by BCCI President Sharad Pawar to join the team in South Africa, is likely to leave on December 10, five days ahead of the start of the first Test in Johannesburg.
Ganguly also said here that he would meet Mr Vengsarkar during his stay in Kolkata.
''Not only because he is the chief national selector, but because he is a former skipper and a senior colleague that I would like to meet him,'' he said.
