Kolkata, Nov 30(UNI) Condemning the ''vandalism'' in the West Bengal Assembly, the CPI(M) today said the Trinamool Congress was trying to stall the process of industrialisation in the state.

''The incident proved that the Trinamool Congress is playing in the hands of reactionary forces. It wants to put thorns in the way of industrialisation in the state,'' party state Committee Secretary Biman Basu said.

Without naming Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee, he said it was unprecedented in the country that an MP led rampaging acts inside the Assembly building. ''It is a black day for the state Assembly. The way the Trinamool legislators acted in a fascist manner, vindicates that they are bent on murdering Parliamentary democracy,'' Mr Basu said and appealed to the people to igrnore the call for the Trinamool-sponosred bandh tomorrow.

Mr Basu alleged that besides the rampaging acts of Trinamool MLAs in the Assembly, party supporters had set ablaze four buses and a police vehicle and put up road blocks at eleven places.

''This shows they are frustrated, directionless and they want to do anything they want under the garb of politics,'' he said.

Justifying the detention of Ms Banerjee on her way to Singur, Mr Basu said the Trinamool leader was being accompanied by his party colleagues in three cars and the number surpassed five. ''There was 144 Cr P C and not more than five people can assemble in such prohibited areas. I think the administration has acted in a right manner,'' he said.
