TDP demands white paper on petroleum products

Visakhapatnam, Nov 30 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu today demanded that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre to come out with a white paper on petroleum products.

After increasing the petrol and diesel prices several times in one year, the reduction now was only an 'eyewash' by the UPA government, he told reporters here.

The scaling down of petroleum prices was not due to the efforts of Congress but on account of decline in crude oil prices in the global markets, he said.

Making it clear that the TDP would fight against the Congress policies in Andhra Pradesh, Mr Naidu said his party would take up the cause of beedi workers as their livlihood was at stake following the Centre's notification making it mandatory to carry logo of skull, bones and dead body on the packets of beedi.
