Revenue official caught while accepting bribe

Bangalore, Nov 30 (UNI) The Lok Ayukta officials of the Bangalore Rural district have trapped a revenue official while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 for issuing a change of property ownership certificate.

According to Karnataka Lok Ayukta sources, Revenue Inspector C Nagaraju had demanded Rs 12,000 as bribe for issuing the certificate and was caught red-handed while receiving a part payment. Mr Nagaraju was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on Tuesday.

The Karnataka Lok Ayukta had registered as many as 16 cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, this month.
