Recognise degrees from Madrasas : Sachar Committee
New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The Sachar Committee report on the Social, Economic and Educational status of Muslims in India has recommended that degrees from Madrasas be recognised for eligibility in competitive examinations and at least one Muslim Police Inspector be deputed in Muslim-concentrated areas.
The Report, which was tabled in Parliament today amid loud protests by the opposition, also recommended constitution of an Equal Opportunity Commission to look into the grievances of deprived groups and elimination of anomalies with respect to reserved Constituencies under the de-limitation scheme.
The Committee has suggested adoption of a more rational delimitation procedure that does not reserve constituencies with high minority population shares for SCs.
