Ahmedabad, Nov 30 (UNI) An eight-member Parliamentary Committee is visiting Gujarat today to review the measures taken to rehabilitate the post-Godhra riot-affected families in the state.

The committee will be visiting Juhapura, Shah-e-Alam, Vatwa, Narodapatia areas here and some areas of Sabarkantha districts.

The visit comes in the wake of the Centre's announcement of a seven-lakh compensation pacakage each for the victims of Gujarat violence.

Besides others, the committee includes CPI-M leader Basudev Acharya, Congress leader Madhusudan Mistry and Samajwadi Party's Ramjilal Suman.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had recently voiced apprehension about the Centre's announcement of the compensation package, saying the Union government had ''conveniently forgotten'' the victims of Akshardham temple attack.

Working president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Gujarat, Dilipbhai Trivedi had also said the UPA government's move was an ''appeasement policy'' in view of the forthcoming UP assembly elections.
