Organising Committee formed for National Youth Games
Bangalore, Nov 30 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has formed a 17-member Organising Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for conducting the first National Youth Games in the State.
Karnataka Olympic Association President K Govindraju, who was appointed the Organising Secretary, said a notification to this effect was issued by the Government recently. Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Ministers N Cheluvarayaswamy and Bandeppa Kashempur have been appointed as Working Presidents.
He said that while Sports Minister Hanumantappa Y Alkod would be the Vice-President, Ministers R Ashok and Iqbal Ansari, Chief Secretary (Finance), Secretaries of Department of Youth Services, Commerce and Industries, and Information Technology, Commissioners of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), Excise, Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP), Commercial Tax, Youth Service and Sports Department would be members of the Committee.
Mr Govindraju said the first meeting of the Committee, expected to be held shortly, would decide the date and venue for the Games.
